COMMUNICATION WITH RACE OFFICIALS

• HEARING REQUESTS – GENERAL INFORMATION
  
  • Hearing requests can be filed from your smart phone using the US Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing-App and emailed to [email protected].
    • Download the US Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing-App from the App Store or Google Play. Click on the link for information about the US Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing-App.
      
      
  • Alternatively, use the US Sailing Hearing Request Form (Fill out form; save it; email it to [email protected]; add diagram to email or bring one hearing.)
    • Users of iOS (Apple) devices will need to download Adobe Reader from the App Store in order to be able to fill in the form on their devices. Adobe Reader is free.
      
      
  • Or just send an email to [email protected] and identify
    
    • (a) the protestor and protestee;
    • (b) the incident;
    • (c) where and when the incident occurred

• After filing the inquiry form, be sure to report to the Race Office at ABYC to discuss your inquiry with the race committee and find out the response to your inquiry.
  
  

HOSPITALITY

• The hospitality of ABYC is extended to all participants.
• The club bar will be open after racing.
• Club hours are Wed-Sun 8:30am-5pm except Fridays until 9pm.
• Alamitos Bay is a public bay. We do not have a permit for sole use of the bay. Racers are expected to be courteous to others on the water.
• ABYC yard rules do not allow dogs, other than service dogs, onto the property or boat yard.

BOAT LAUNCHING

• Your entry includes launching, recovery, and storage for visiting competing boats on the day of the event.  Any boat or trailer arriving before noon or staying overnight without paying ABYC yard storage fees will be subject to impound and applicable fees.
• Boats or trailers arriving before or leaving after these specified times must complete an application for ABYC temporary yard storage (https://abyc.org/register/regatta/Gnq94CMgJX/class). The application must be approved, the fee paid, and the waiver completed before arrival.
• Visiting competitors arriving outside club hours must make arrangements with the regatta chair.
• There are two hoists available to launch boats. Boats shall provide their own internal lifting sling to use the hoists.
• ABYC members who store their boats in the yard should submit a Vessel Underway Form.

PARKING AND STORAGE

• Due to space limitations, vehicle parking on ABYC grounds is restricted.
• Off‐street metered parking is available across the street in municipal lots.
• Street parking is available. Street sweeping occurs on Thursday and Friday, check the signs when parking as the parking tickets are expensive.
• Parking of unattached trailers on public streets is prohibited.
