COMMUNICATION WITH RACE OFFICIALS

Regatta officials are using a web-based program to assist with the management of this regatta. It provides electronic forms for such actions as scoring inquiries, protests, equipment substitutions, etc. And it provides for electronic communication with competitors if competitors have provided an email. Competitors will be notified electronically of protest time limits, confirmation of a protest filing, scheduled hearing times, etc. This electronic system allows competitors to move freely about the event and remain in contact with relevant officials. And all competitors have electronic access to the scoring inquiries, jury decisions, etc.

  • 29er, 420 & ILCA 6 - This regatta is a US Sailing Youth Team Qualifier. 
  • ILCA 6 & ILCA 7 -This regatta is #3 of 4 for the 2024-2025 SCYYRA Ullman/Frost Series, a season long series of races in Southern California.
  • 29er - This regatta is #3 of 4 for the 2024-2025 SCYYRA Hamlin Series, a season long series of races in Southern California.

HOSPITALITY

  • The hospitality of ABYC is extended to all participants.
  • The galley will be open each day. Breakfast, bag lunches and adult beverages are available.
  • The club bar will be open after racing.
  • ABYC yard rules do not allow dogs, other than service dogs, onto the property or boat yard.

PARKING AND STORAGE

  • Due to space limitations, vehicle parking on ABYC grounds is restricted.
  • Off‐street parking is available across the street in municipal lots.

BOAT LAUNCHING

  • Your entry includes launching, recovery, and storage for visiting competing boats during the event.
  • The ABYC Yard is open Wednesday through Sunday from 0830 to 1700.
  • Visiting competing boats may request extended storage online at https://abyc.org/visiting-sailors. 
  • Any boat or trailer found on ABYC property without prior written authorization from ABYC is subject to impound and associated fees.

LEAVING AND RETURNING TO OCEAN COURSES

  • The centerline “Keep Right” buoys from the edge of the Alamitos Bay Yacht Club basin to the end of the Alamitos Bay jetty (including A mark at the end of the jetty) are a continuous obstruction. Boats entering or leaving Alamitos Bay must take these buoys to port.
  • The AquaLink ferry to downtown Long Beach uses this channel and you are required to keep clear of them at all times.

Note to ILCA Competitors - ILCA North American Membership is mandatory for entry.  If you are from an area outside ILCA NA, please email your proof of class membership to ILCA NA ([email protected]) and you will be given an ILCA NA membership number to enter.
