2025 SCYA E. E. Manning Regatta/CFJ Shadden Series

COMMUNICATION WITH RACE OFFICIALS

Regatta officials are using a web-based program to assist with the management of this regatta. It provides electronic forms for such actions as scoring inquiries, protests, equipment substitutions, etc. And it provides for electronic communication with competitors if competitors have provided an email. Competitors will be notified electronically of protest time limits, confirmation of a protest filing, scheduled hearing times, etc. This electronic system allows competitors to move freely about the event and remain in contact with relevant officials. And all competitors have electronic access to the scoring inquiries, jury decisions, etc.

NOTE for March 2, 2025 at 10:00 AM:  Due to extreme weather the following classes will not race on March 2, 2025.  Sabot (A / B / C1 / C2 / C3), RS Tera (Gold / Silver), and Windsurfer LT. In addition, the CFJ class will sail in the racing area for Bay Class (Alamitos Bay)

The event is open to boats whose LOA is less than 20 feet and without a fixed keel (see NoR below for complete details).

2024-2025 SHADDEN SERIES FOR CFJ

• Eligible boats wishing to be scored in the 2024/2025 SCYYRA Shadden Series should complete a separate online registration at SCYYRA Shadden Series.
  
  

HOSPITALITY

• The hospitality of ABYC is extended to all participants.
• The galley will be open each day. Breakfast, bag lunches and adult beverages are available.
• The club bar will be open after racing.
• ABYC yard rules do not allow dogs, other than service dogs, onto the property or boat yard.

PARKING AND STORAGE

• Due to space limitations, vehicle parking on ABYC grounds is restricted.
• Off‐street metered parking is available across the street in municipal lots.
• Street parking is available. Street sweeping occurs on Thursday and Friday, check the signs when parking as the parking tickets are expensive.
• Parking of unattached trailers on public streets is prohibited.

BOAT LAUNCHING

• Your entry includes launching, recovery, and storage for visiting competing boats from the day prior to the event to the day following the event.
• The ABYC Yard is open Wednesday through Sunday from 0830 to 1700.
• ABYC members who store their boats in the yard should submit a Vessel Underway Form.
• Visiting competing boats may request extended storage online at https://abyc.org/visiting-sailors. The cost is $20.00 per day paid in advance, multi-boat trailers, oversized trailers will be priced according to space requirements.
• Any boat or trailer found on ABYC property without prior written authorization from ABYC is subject to impound and associated fees.
  
  

LEAVING AND RETURNING TO OCEAN COURSES

• The centerline “Keep Right” buoys from the edge of the Alamitos Bay Yacht Club basin to the end of the Alamitos Bay jetty (including A mark at the end of the jetty) are a continuous obstruction. Boats entering or leaving Alamitos Bay must take these buoys to port.
• The AquaLink ferry to downtown Long Beach uses this channel and you are required to keep clear of them at all times.
