Welcome to the Club

At ABYC, our primary goal is to provide a welcoming atmosphere to celebrate our passion for sailing.  We have an active sailing programs for both juniors and adults.  We host a number of local regattas each year with the largest being the famous Turkey Day regatta.  We are proud to host world-class championship regattas and are home to national, world and Olympic champions.  Our race committees are staffed by volunteer members that embrace and are proud of the club’s dedication to excellence and sportsmanship. Welcome to ABYC, it’s the place to be!

Facilities

Our architecturally distinct, two-story New England-style clubhouse, topped by the traditional ‘widows walk’, is a landmark of Alamitos Bay. Within the clubhouse is a lounge with a 360-degree fire-pit, a beautiful bar, a spacious dining room and a banquet hall fit for all kinds of events. Our friendly staff is here to make your visit comfortable if you’re coming for drinks, for a regatta or hosting a private event. Additionally, there is a galley downstairs for breakfast and lunch on the weekends.

Adjacent to the main clubhouse is the auxiliary Quarterdeck building used for race management, our Sailing Director’s office as well as space for sailing classes, regatta registration and even ukulele classes.  The main clubhouse and Quarterdeck are both outfitted with restrooms and showers. At ABYC you’ll find yard space for your keelboat or dinghy when participating in a regatta or other sailing event. To facilitate launching and retrieval of the dry stored boats, we have electric and gas-powered mules and twin electric cranes, as well as a launch ramp for smaller dinghies.
